My wife Maggie and I bought an apartment May 2006 which is underconstruction in Cuenca across from the Oro Verde to eventually retire to , we were able to lay out the floorspace and pick out flooring, counters, tile and etc. We dealt with Kathy Gonzales of Cuenca realty who showed us around, connected us with an English speaking attorney. The whole experience was nonthreatening and I feel that we got a good value. Our positon is that a nice secure first world residence is important we can travel around the city and country and enjoy its colonial charm but still retire to our first world residence and minimize any potential culture shock.
