An indefatigable reader and reformed devil's advocate, I am eager to hear and willing to express points of view. Cultural immersion is both stimulating and frustrating, always a challenge because I want to understand and become part of the mix instantly. I need to be more patient and enjoy that journey as well as the destination. My major passion is an affinity for all cuisine, discovering new ingredients, learning different techniques. Planning, preparing and cooking dishes is a joy. Sharing them will others is a necessity. I have never traveled to South America so visiting Ecuador will be an adventure. I approach the idea of living there with healthy pragmatism and common sense and a wealth of hope.
