Can we find jobs in Ecuador?

I am a retired engineer (Oxford PhD), now doing part-time math tutoring. I am interested in possibly retiring to Ecuador because the weather and spiraling cost of living in the USA is starting to degrade my quality of life (I am 64). My main interest is tutoring so I would like to continue with this in Ecuador even if the rates are much lower than in the USA ($50/hour).

Hi ladies ...from what I have been reading Ecuador is not necessarily less expensive. I have been told to be very aware of advertisements encouraging this. I guess if you are interested in a change of lifestyle ...then go for it. I am hoping to take a few trips ...before I decide to retire there.

30 yr veteran Chiropractor/Nutrition/Acupuncturist considering options of working and/or retiring in Ecuador. (Spanish is my 2nd language). I love golfing and my wife loves horses. My undergraduate degree was in Latin American studies and Spanish. Have traveled in Latin America many times and studied in Uruguay / Argentina / Mexico. Would love to return one day. My health services are broad spectrum of effective holistic approach. Attracted to Vilcabamba initially but would consider similar climate locations.

I presently live on Vancouver Island, this island is appoximately 200 miles long and about half as wide. It has a very temperate climate and so I can enjoy the outdoors all year round. I have retired early and have been thinking of spending half of the year in Ecuador and surrounding region. I was sent a link to this site by a friend and am so happy to be a part of it. I am looking to learn what life would really be like in Ecuador. I live on the coast and would be interested in a town on the coast there. Since retiring I have gone back to jewelry making, primarily metal including sterling. It is something I have not done in almost 40 years and am enjoying it immensely especially exploring new techniques. As I speak little Spanish I am looking forward to learning that beautiful language this year. I promise to keep in touch and look forward to getting to know other people on this site.

Looking on information on a possible move to Ecuador for myself and my family. As anyone that moves out of the country we have a lot of questions. :)

Exploring retiring in Cuenca

My wife and I are retired and living in the U.S. I enjoy working out about 3 to 4 times a week. My whole family needs dental work and I don't want to pay a fortune that the dentists in the U.S. are asking. Looking to find an excellent dentist practicing general dentistry in Cuenca or somewhere near by.

I retired 15 years ago, and for the past 11 years live full time Ft. Lauderdale , I missed the chance to retire to Lake Chapala, MX. area. I am singled divorced and not in a relationship now..One of my medical concerns is being near a hospital because of a pancreatitis condition Last hospitalization.1/06.otherwise I am healthy. Would like to explore living in Equador.

We are a 60+ couple, U.S. citizens, Costa Rican residents.
